How We Work

Healing that honours who you are

You deserve care that sees the whole of you.

We honour the wisdom and healing traditions of the Arab World, African nations, all of Asia, and the Global South. We pair this deep respect and evolving understanding with the best approaches from Western/Eurocentric medicine and psychology.

In a rapidly changing world, our goal is to help you feel truly well and live a life of purpose and meaning.

Our team comes from 22 different countries, all bringing skill, integrity, and creativity to your care.

Whoever you are and wherever you come from, you will be met with respect and openness.

Decolonising therapy is not a destination - it is an ongoing process. Colonialism runs deep within modern institutions, including medicine and psychology, and we hold that reality with honesty. We are dedicated to learning, questioning, and challenging ourselves daily. We actively seek to understand decolonising practice, to contribute to the worldwide conversation around it, and to bring that growing awareness into every aspect of our work - with humility, and with commitment.

Dubai holds over 200 nationalities. We listen deeply to your cultural story - your language, your spiritual framework, your ancestral wisdom - and build care that genuinely fits your life. We are constantly learning from our clients and drawing from diverse disciplines - anthropology, somatic work, indigenous healing traditions, and more - to offer care that is ever more culturally sensitive, relevant, and impactful.

Every practitioner at Freespirit Collective is trained in trauma-responsive care. We understand how trauma lives in the body, the community, and across generations - and we meet it with skilled compassion. Trauma-responsive work is itself ever-evolving, and we are deeply committed to staying current and informed. The contexts of our world - and of this region in particular - create a growing need not just for trauma skills, but for genuine trauma consciousness: a way of seeing, understanding, and being that shapes everything we do. Being situated in Dubai places us at a remarkable crossroads of cultures, histories, and human experiences, and we draw from that position constantly. Our aim is to develop therapies and ways of working that are truly impactful - for individuals, for families, and for organisations - in a landscape that is complex, layered, and always changing.

Mental, emotional, physical, and community health are inseparable. True care takes into account all dimensions of a person - their inner world, their body, their relationships, and the wider systems they live within. We weave together evidence-based approaches and traditional healing to address not just symptoms, but the whole person in their full context. Across our team, we bring together a rich diversity of training backgrounds, disciplines, and lived experience - and we draw on all of it, collaborating closely so that individuals and families feel genuinely held, seen, and supported in ways that go far beyond any single approach.

◉

In line with our commitment to decolonised care and our openness to many cultural wisdoms, our team works both diagnostically and non-diagnostically. We hold deep respect for medical and evidence-based frameworks, and we also recognise their limits. The fact that some approaches cannot be measured by conventional scientific tools does not diminish their validity - healing traditions that have supported human wellbeing for centuries deserve the same intellectual seriousness as any clinical protocol. What we care about most is not how a practice is categorised, but the training, experience, skill and integrity of the practitioner offering it. Every modality at Freespirit Collective - whether diagnostic or otherwise - is held to rigorous ethical scrutiny. We believe real excellence lies in honouring complexity, and always placing the person in front of us at the centre.

New Families

الرعاية حول الولادة

The most sacred threshold of all

Welcoming a child - whether through conception and pregnancy, or the opening of the heart through adoption - is one of the most profound acts a human being can undertake.

We offer whole person, culturally intelligent perinatal care that draws from both the wisdom of Eurocentric psychology and the ancient knowledge of this time as spiritual and transformative - something every culture holds about birth in its own way.

✦

Every birth is a warrior moment

Pregnancy and childbirth often get over-medicalised. Comments like 'I didn't have a choice' or 'I had to' have become common when women recount their birth stories.

Medical interventions can save mothers and babies when needed. But has the overall risk-management focus, the ability to test and control, gone too far?

Birth - no matter how your baby arrives - is one of the most powerful acts of courage there is. Vaginal. Caesarean. Adoptive. Each contains the warrior moment & each is a sacred rite of passage.

◉Vaginal Birth
◉Caesarean Birth

Preparing body, mind, and spirit

Conception is not just a biological event - it is a meeting of two nervous systems, two ancestral lines, two emotional landscapes. The quality of the soil shapes what grows. Pre-conception care at FSC is an invitation to do the inner and outer work before the journey begins.

Pregnancy is a rite of passage - not a medical condition. It is a time of extraordinary physical, emotional, and spiritual transformation. The warrior moment

All births are natural. All are sacred.

Whether your baby arrives vaginally, by caesarean section, or through the sacred path of adoption - you are a warrior. The weeks and months after birth can feel like one of the most unsupported times in a woman's life, even when she is surrounded by love & help. "

One minute you are holding a feverish child at 3am wondering if either of you will ever sleep again. The next you are standing at an airport doorway trying not to cry because the same child now is alive but no longer fully belongs to you.

You spend years saying text me when you get there. Did you eat well? Wear a coat. And underneath all of it, the ancient prayer: please let this world be gentle with someone I love more than myself.

No one tells you that motherhood is also an ongoing act of transformation. Your heart starts living outside your body permanently. I look at my children now and still see every version of them at once — sticky hands, impossible questions, slammed doors and laughter from the back seat. The people they are becoming.

Time is ruthless. Motherhood is the reason. The reason I forgive it.

To the mothers, the stepmothers, the grandmothers, the mothers who mother friends, community, students, patients, strangers. To the women grieving mothers, to the women grieving children, to the women still hoping and those caring. Love and loss side by side today. Love leaves fingerprints on a life. Motherhood leaves them everywhere.

Healthy parents. Healthy planet.

We believe that the quality of care we offer parents in these earliest chapters has consequences that stretch far beyond any individual family. The nervous systems we shape in early childhood become the emotional landscape of the next generation. Supporting healthy parents is - quite literally - one of the most important things we can do for the future of this world.

Family Therapy

Families are not collections of individuals - they are living systems, with their own language, history, and patterns passed across generations. When one member struggles, the whole system feels it. Family therapy at Freespirit Collective creates a held, culturally aware space where the whole family can be seen individually as well as in the room together: speaking, listening, and beginning to understand each other anew.

✦

What is family group therapy?

Family group therapy brings family members together with two skilled therapists who understand the dynamics of belonging, loyalty, and rupture. It is not about blame - it is about patterns. We help families see the invisible forces shaping their interactions, and find new ways of being together that honour each person's needs.

Parents & children in conflict

When communication has broken down between parents and their children - whether young children, teens, or adult children - we create a space to reconnect and rebuild.

Couples & co-parents

Navigating partnership, parenting differences, or the aftermath of separation while keeping the wellbeing of children at the centre.

Multigenerational families

Extended family dynamics, intergenerational trauma, cultural identity tensions, and the complexities of raising children between two worlds.

Siblings & family grief

Loss, illness, or major life transitions that affect all members differently but require collective processing and mutual support.

✦
Every family has its own wisdom. Our work is to help you find yours again.

Our approach

Our family therapists hold deep cross-cultural competence. We understand that family means something different in every culture - that loyalty, duty, silence, and expression are shaped by history, migration, religion, and community. We never impose a single model of the 'healthy family'. Instead, we work with each family's own values, strengths, and story.

Feminine Transitions

Every hormonal shift a woman moves through is not a malfunction to be corrected - it is a threshold to be crossed with knowledge, reverence, and community. Grace and self respect during these transitions are not gifts some women are given and others are not. They are a birthright. So much of whether we meet shifts with power or with suffering depends on our relationship with our own body within the stories we have been told by society. We want to help women claim their own healthy stories.

Explore Feminine Transitions
✦

We reject the gaslighting

The story most women have been told about perimenopause and menopause is a story of decline. Of deficiencies and symptoms to fix. Hot flashes. Mood fluctuations. Loss of vitality. Low libido. Brain fog. Women have been told these are problems to solve. That something is going very wrong. Or that this is just the inevitable course of ageing & we should just accept & resign ourselves to being a bit ‘less’ from now on.

We hold a totally different truth. These changes can all be challenges, but they are not symptoms of dysfunction. They are communications - precise and purposeful - from an intelligent body. A body that has perhaps been asking to be listened to for years. The body at menopause is not failing. It is transforming. Transformation can be intense, which is why our approach is to meet the complexity of this time with complex care, supporting women on every level - physical, mental, emotional, spiritual & social.

Your body is not broken
This is not a decline
You are not diminishing
You are becoming

What the body is actually saying

When we stop trying to suppress what the body is communicating and begin to listen to it instead, the information is extraordinary. The ‘symptoms’ of hormonal transition are almost always the body asking - clearly, sometimes urgently - for a change of context. A shift in what we eat, how we move, how much we sleep. A change of who we spend our time with, what we say yes to, what we finally allow ourselves to say no to. The body at perimenopause and menopause is asking us, often for the first time with real authority, to stop living a life that doesn’t fit us.

Stepping into radiance

Ageing as becoming, not diminishing

1

Perimenopause Psychotherapy

Supporting the identity shifts, emotional intensity, and relational changes that accompany perimenopause - in a space that treats this as a developmental threshold, not a disorder.

2

Nutrition & Hormonal Wisdom

Evidence-based and culturally-informed nutritional guidance for each phase of hormonal transition - food as nourishment & medicine.

3

Homeopathy for Hormonal Health

Gentle, constitutional homeopathic support for the full spectrum of menopausal transition - working with the body's intelligence rather than against it.

4

Boundary & Voice Work

At perimenopause and menopause, many women find that what they once tolerated they can no longer endure - and this is healthy. We work with the healthy 'no' as a form of self-knowledge and creative energy.

5

Embodiment & Movement

Somatic practices designed for the changing body - restorative, nourishing, and built on the understanding that the body at this stage needs rhythm, not performance.

6

Menopause Community Circle

A monthly gathering for women in perimenopause and menopause - to share honestly, to witness each other, and to collectively reclaim this passage as a rite of initiation, not a medical event.

◈

The body & the modern world

The female body is cyclical. The modern world is linear. This incompatibility is at the root of so much of what women experience as 'hormonal problems.' A culture built on 24/7 availability, hyper connectivity, constant productivity, and the suppression of natural rhythms is not built for any body - but especially not the female body. One of the most powerful things we can do at any hormonal threshold is to reclaim permission to live in accordance with our own true nature & honour the fluctuating reality of life - rather than forcing ourselves to conform.

You are being called to your radiance

Every culture that has not had its wisdom erased has understood that the post-menopausal woman is one of the most powerful forces in any community. She is the one who no longer bleeds her life force outward each month. She holds it. She distils it. She becomes the living repository of everything she has learned, survived, and integrated. The invitation of menopause is not to manage the symptoms of ageing - it is to finally become, fully and without apology, who you have always been.

◎

Own your 'no'

Boundaries are not selfishness - they hold the shape of a life lived with integrity.

◉

Share your wisdom

What you know - from decades of living in a body, navigating relationships, surviving and thriving - is needed.

★

Step into your creativity

Many women find the post-menopausal years their most creatively alive. The inner fire that sustained reproduction now fuels creation.

◈

Age as a privilege

To grow older as a woman is not a loss to be mourned. It is an extraordinary gift - to be held sacred.

Workplace Wellbeing

العافية في بيئة العمل

Supporting your team's wellbeing is essential

We've curated a comprehensive, straightforward menu of talks and workshops - grounded in research and designed to strengthen key areas of human functioning, relational health, and psychological resilience. Whether you're looking to build emotional agility, foster psychological safety, or enhance team dynamics, these offerings provide a meaningful and practical way forward.

Our menu is arranged into four key sections - The Mind, The Body, Culture, and Spirit - designed so that HR and team leads can quickly assemble a full programme that precisely fits their people, their goals, and their culture.

◈

The business case is settled

Treating mental health and general wellbeing as central to strategy - not as a peripheral HR function - results in a stronger organisational culture, higher resilience across the organisation, and measurably enhanced leadership effectiveness. The importance of a psychologically safe, wellbeing-focused work culture has been robustly established through research. Wellbeing embedded in culture is no longer discounted as soft-skills training, achieved through guesswork, or treated as a nice-to-have. It is a strategic imperative.

A call to women

Dearest Women,

Our Mother Earth and her people are moving through a time of great upheaval. Systems that have stood for generations are cracking open. What was hidden is being exposed - hopefully so it can be healed.

Now, perhaps more than ever, we need to be in our bodies. In our consciousness. In our wisdom. Each of us needs to play our own unique role in building a safer, healthier, kinder world.

The Earth needs women who are free - truly free - from the time and energy-wasting traps laid by capitalist, patriarchal societies. We all need feminine passion, intelligence, nurture, and strength to rise at this time.

We want women to let go of the insecurities and rules that keep them trapped in endless cycles of people-pleasing, perfectionism, and self-criticism. We want women to feel they are becoming stronger and more alive in every decade. We want women to truly support each other.

If we women can truly be free of the habit of shrinking, we can join together to do the work this moment is asking of us.

All our retreats hold this wish at their core - true sisterhood in empowered feminine communities, to support unique, unstoppable, creative women.

Woman writing by the sea
Men walking through forest

A call to men

Dearest Men,

The world is asking something of you right now. Not performance. Not dominance or the armour of certainty. Something older, and far more demanding: the courage to go inward.

We live in a time when masks are coming off - not just in the political landscape, but in the internal one. The systems men have been trained to uphold are fracturing. This is not a threat. It is an invitation.

We want men to feel the full range of what it means to be alive - the grief that was never permitted, the tenderness that was trained out, the creativity that was called impractical. We want men to discover in each other the deep relief of brotherhood.

A man free from the compulsion to perform, to dominate, or to numb himself is a man who can truly lead - his family, his community, his own life. The Earth needs this kind of man now.

The world is not waiting for men to have it together. It is waiting for men to be real.

All our men's retreats are built around this: embodiment, self-sovereignty, and the radical act of coming home to yourself - in the company of other men on the same journey.

I am a Nutritional Psychology Specialist with over 15 years of experience in the Middle East. With a bachelor's in nutrition and dietetics and a master's in psychology of mental health, I blend nutrition science with human psychology. My work is grounded in the belief that mental and physical health are one.

My mission is rooted in liberation and freedom — freedom from the cycles of dieting, perfectionism, and comparisons. By creating a compassionate, non-judgmental, and weight-inclusive space, I help people reconnect with their bodies and reclaim the trust, intuition, and wisdom that diet culture and self-criticism have taken away.

My approach is best described as compassionate, holistic, deep-health coaching, guiding each client to find balance in many interconnected dimensions of their health.

I work with people through consciousness coaching, embodiment and meditation training - primarily with groups and organisations. I founded Freespirit Collective in 2018 to make whole-person support more accessible, culturally rooted and community-led.

My work draws on over two decades of experience with people across cultures, my psychology education and my study of ancient wisdom traditions, without claiming teacher status in those traditions.

The Art Wall

Each month our library wall becomes a different living gallery, showcasing the work of one local artist. We chose this not as decoration, but as a statement: health and wholeness exist so that we can make creative contributions to the world around us. Art is not separate from healing - it is one of its most natural expressions.

The Art Wall also serves as a direct bridge between artists and our community. Every featured work is available to view, enjoy, and purchase. We believe in closing the gap between the person who makes beautiful things and the people who need them in their lives.
